White Rock

While some refer to Casa Linda as the second oldest shopping center in Dallas, it’s actually the first in Dallas proper - HPV is in Highland Park.  Developed in 1945 by Carl Brown, it has a myriad of restaurants and personal service.  It’s a skipping rocks toss to the activities at White Rock Lake and what’s referred to as “old” Lake Highlands - who is also experiencing new business growth and development.  Although, it won’t win any beauty contests, Garland Road has business you can’t live without.  We say if they’re too chicken to develop it, funk her up!  It works for Congress Avenue in Austin!
