Oak Lawn

Oak Lawn established itself as a cool neighborhood with real economic and entertainment clout when Pride activism began in the then, working class neighborhood more than 30 years ago.  Together, the many celebrated gay and lesbian clubs, cafes, shops, dance halls and bookstores work seamless with the mom and pop retailers and restaurants started by immigrants several generations ago. With the recent re-lo of so many non-gay urban dwellers who are attracted to the upscale high-rises, town homes, variety of restaurants, events and office towers; Oak Lawn, long comfortable with itself, continues to set the tone for the rest of the city in regards to renewed business energy and inclusiveness.

The Dallas Theater Center

3636 Turtle Creek Boulevard Dallas, Texas

Founded in 1954, the Dallas Theater Center currently calls the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Kalita Humphries Theater on the banks of Turtle Creek home.  The company produces at least 5 contemporary and classical plays per season. The Dallas Theater Center is set to move to its new home, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theater in 2009.
