Drop off Textiles for Recycle and benefit Heart House Dallas
Dude, get rid of it! Did you know that 2.5 billion lbs. of textiles are recycled every year? If you want to be authentic Saturday, April 23rd, drop off clothes, shoes, belts, handbags, toys and stuffed animals, sheets and other gently owned soft goods between 10 am - 5 pm. We know it means spending a little time dealing with closets and drawers first, but The Earth will thank you - and it’s a drive-through.
2011; Goodbye Shabby, Hello Chic
Thank you for checking us out.
After waiting out the bad economy these past five years, it’s on! Intownmix is growing up to what it was originally designed; a Business-to-Business Web Magazine for small business owners and family owned businesses (large & small) with a Lifestyle Business-to-Consumer Guide. In the coming weeks, the weekly newsletter will get a make-over but no worries, it will still be chock-full of sass, unique business stories and happenings by entertainment district.
Lisa diStefano at Rising Gallery
WATERFRONT, an exhibition of landscapes featuring regional artist Lisa diStefano Benjamin Purvis opens Friday.
Lisa diStefano is known to her collectors for her bold abstracted landscapes and draws inspiration for her creations directly from her surroundings, often taking photographs of the landscape to use later in the studio. Earlier this year while walking the lakes surrounding LSU campus, she became transfixed by hundreds of flowering waterlilies thriving in the lakes which gave the illusion of solid ground. Days later, she returned again only to find the scene destroyed due to a toxin purposely introduced to the water by one of LSU’s groundskeepers. diStefano created these new paintings of suspended floral clusters adrift in abstracted waterways with the celebration of the beauty of that moment in mind.
Behive, the 60s Musical
The musical salutes strong trend setting women of the 60’s from Lesley Gore to Janis Joplin, the Shirelles to Tina Turner and everyone in between says Theater Three. The summer splash with vocal talent, satire, sassy humor, wigs and lots of hairspray is a fast paced musical that will play four performances; a three week journey through the look and sounds of his times. It’s his Fathers’ Day party, he can sing along if he wants to.

And at this price, you can afford a few new pieces to spruce up your – or a friend’s décor. CHannon
