And, you can tell where he’s been by just looking at the variety of tastes on the dinner menu – he’s picked up favorites along the way. There’s a new special spring/summer 3 course tasting menu that features lighter portions of menu favorites including Roasted Bronzini, Roasted Windy Meadows Farm Chicken, Petit Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Pork Tenderloin. Lakewood Theater
Burlesque Comedy Show
Remember the I Love Lucy skit when she was in burlesque costume trying to break into the movies in a movie scene– my favorite part was when the star (not Lucy) was shot with a gun and Lucy took the opportunity to pretend she was shot to get the attention of the director and producer. Although it didn’t work out, she got back at them by writing her name on the bottom of her shoe so viewers would know who she was. Hold that thought and magnify The Amour Show performance to the Nth degree.

Final Weeks
Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera
Meadows Museum
5900 Bishop Avenue
ENDS September 20, 2009
The Cubist Portraits from 1913 - 1917 are in their final complimentary weeks. I personally feel cubism’s subjects of being depicted broken down and offered up in a multi-faceted dimensions is actually a visual interpretation of the growing political unrest with the governments of Europe and Latin America that was taking place at the time. It would be perfectly natural for the intellectually curious Diego Rivera to make his way to Paris given the state of revolution in Mexico at the time.
Reader Scott Chase offers his own insight into the artist’s critical years in Paris.
