Welcome to Intownmix

Dallas can best be described as a series of neighborhoods and through our Mix Guide, you will find a home page for each of the unique business districts surrounding them in urban Dallas (inside 635).  Find out about events, who’s doing business, trends and when we’re out of beta; you’ll find reviews locally, nationally and internationally.  With 53,000 registered recipients, the weekly e-blast reaches a few hundred thousand people in 50 countries and is celebrated for showcasing Dallas arts, culture and lifestyle to locals, professionals and international shoppers.  While we populate the site, add features and work out the kinks; we’ll introduce you to a mix of personalities who put the Big in Big D art, business, real estate and non-profit news!  We’re in BETA, what’s your story?

40% off One Day Only!

It is not weird that we have stockings hanging for the dogs and oddly enough, they know which one is theirs.  If you need some presents for your poochlers and kitties, Co-Owner Chris Watts says its inventory time and everything but food, treats and custom items will be 40% off this Saturday only.  They’d rather give a great discount than have to spend time counting the adorable selections on clothing, toys, collars and candles.

Jingle Bell Run

Still feeling a little guilt after the Thanksgiving feast and the rest of the holidays which mean eating and drinking to excess and putting off the body reshaping until January?  We know the drill!  But check it - what if you could do a little exercise before Christmas that would benefit a couple of great charities?  Not too much, just a 5K run or a 1 mile fun run – you could make it that far, right?

Holiday Workshop

You want it, your body yearns for it and that dress needs it. What better way to do your physique right than to move your way lean with the exotic Latin fusion Zumba.  Sounds fun and entertaining because it is and with the expertise and energy from instructor Amethyst Mendek, you will forget it’s a workout and be ready in time for the holidays.  Classes will continue to be held every Sunday.  JPadilla

Getting back to Nature

Remember building forts and pitching tents for overnighters, storytelling in the backyard or learning how to sow seeds from a grandmother or elderly neighbor?  And didn’t you just hate it when Mother marched you outside to pull weeds growing against the fence when you said you were bored!  With the availability of Benadryl and calamine lotion, she didn’t care if we had allergies - she was wicked that way and am personally glad she was.  Author and Journalist Richard Louv whose book Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature-deficit disorder which the Audubon Magazines says is a “too tantalizing to ignore” will present his reasons why children need to get back to nature and why we need to stop controlling the need to keep them at arms length from connecting with the environment!
