Design District

One of the most misunderstood business districts in Dallas; we’ll feature news, who’s who now and not to miss sales and events in the Trinity Design District, the Design District and Dallas Market Center. With more than 300 showrooms and art galleries open to the public in the vicinity west of I-35, it’s easier if you think of it as an outdoor mall for discerning tastes for home, office, gardens and private art collections.  With the addition of new residential communities, the Design District is evolving into an approachable spot for not only professional buyers but also for indie urban dwellers and shoppers looking for bargains and rare finds.

Does Net Neutrality Loss = The New Ghetto

As a growing small media company owner, some of you know of my involvement in lobbying for Net Neutrality, which is the continued absence of regulation in regards to the Open Internet and something everyone should agree on and embrace.  This critical issue will be decided, as called by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski yesterday.  In the grand scheme of things, this affects all of us so today I’m encouraging all of you to learn about and support Net Neutrality and to encourage the FCC Board, located below, to vote against a Tier System on the Open Internet on December 21, 2010.

Opening Reception; Vibrolyx

Gremillion hosts Steven Alexander

Gremillion & Co. Fine Art, Inc. hosts opening reception for Steven Alexander, Vibrolyx, Friday, November 5.

Alexander’s Paintings (shown below in full) feature iconic geometric configurations infused with luscious color resonances. His surfaces, built slowly through a painstaking process, convey a deep sense of time and place. Art In America critic Lilly Wei says, “it is color that is the soul of this enterprise and through the richness and range of his palette, he recapitulates the history of art in a schematic, color-coded abstract distillation. Alexander is a gifted colorist engrossed by process who continues to believe in pure painting.” In their purity and their sensuality, Alexander’s new works forge elemental connections between contemporary painting and its ancestral traditions.
