Deep Ellum

Despite its bad-boy rap, Deep Ellum, established in the 1920’s as a jazz and blues Mecca is still one of the best places to find that funky one-of-a-kind art, restaurant and music scene in Dallas.  Ethnically diverse and a little gritty you’ll notice punks, up-scalers, club kids, and hipsters are equally at home at the more than 30 tasty dining spots, gallery openings, music festivals and music venues. It it has the largest collection of industrial architecture from the turn of the last century and many are now homes and lofts. It’s definitely worth dealing with a few weather-beaten for an alternate nightlife.
