The Nasher Sculpture Center

Open since October 2003, the Nasher Sculpture Center is dedicated to the display and study of modern and contemporary sculpture.  The Center is located on a 2.4 acre site adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art in the heart of the Dallas Arts District.  Its the realization of a longheld dream of the late Raymond and Patsy Nasher, who together formed one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculpture in the world including works by by Calder, Matisse, Miro, Moore, Picasso, Rodin, and Serra, among others. The Nasher Sculpture Center presents rotating exhibitions of works from the Nasher Collection as well as special exhibitions drawn from other museums and private collections.  In addition to indoor gallery space and outdoor Garden, the Center contains an auditorium, education and research facilities, a cafe, and a store.

Dallas Museum of Art

Founded in 1903, the I. M. Pei-designed Dallas Museum of Art contains international art, especially from the Americas, Asia, Pacific Islands and Africa-including 400 pieces of Egyptian and Nubian art. The museum features programs ranging from exhibitions and lectures to concerts, literary readings, dramatic and dance presentations, and a full spectrum of happenings designed to engage everyone.

Open daily except Mondays.

Dallas Contemporary

Founded in 1981, the Dallas Center for Contemporary Art spotlights “smart art by emerging Texas talents.”  The Center holds 20 exhibitions a year and offers studio art classes.  The Center publishes an annual Art Think journal featuring art by DISD 9th graders. The Center has 800 active members and welcomes thousands of visitors every year. The Center is set to move into a new facility in 2009 on Glass Street in the Design District.

Dallas Architecture Forum

The Dallas Architecture Forum was established in 1997 as a place where architects and those who admire their work can interact.  The non-profit organization offers an average of 15 public lectures annually by local and worldwide designers, critics, and historians; topical discussions; and occasional study tours to buildings and cities locally and throughout the world. The organization draws people from a variety of professional interests, including the arts, development and business, public affairs, education and design.
