Green Living 101

Fall Garden Exhibit

State Fair of Texas
To the right of Big Tex and the
Visitors Center on Cullum Blvd.

The energizeGreen radio show heard on CNN 1190 will host 15-30 minutes on the hour from 11 am – 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  The mini workshops with guest speakers on green living and luscious gardening tips will be co-hosted by green-spert Andrea Ridout (shown here “digging in” this morning).  Prior to her show with CNN, Andrea could be heard for years on KRLD’s show Ask Andrea

Dallas green architect; Gary Olp, Fort Worth eco-builder Don Ferrier; Clifton-based eco-gardener; Dr. Deb Tolman, Andersen Wood Windows; Amy Legg, Insignia Countertops; Chris Phelps and experts from the City of Dallas will join Andrea and Ashton Ritchie of Scotts Miracles Grow.  Topics include organic gardening, rainwater-collection, green home design, energy updates, and other topics to help homeowners Be Keen, Green and Energy Lean, the slogan of the radio show.

If you miss the workshops, catch her and co-host Dan a.k.a The Soloar Man Lepinski on Saturday mornings at 9 am on 1190.  Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the midway and don’t want to do fried?  The Fall Garden Exhibition also has wine tastings and cheese and fruit lunch boxes with wine available for purchase.  It is one of our favorite shady respites where artwork by 40 area sculptors and other exhibits are perfectly natural among the beds.  Some of the coolest of the 100 beds in Fair Park which are being tended to by around 50 companies are located in this area.
